Happy Birthday America!

It’s Independence day once again and as a favorite American holiday we American’s love to celebrate this special day – a day or a weekend that represents the tradition of family and going on holiday.

America was founded on July 4, 1776

However, lest we forget, the fourth of July is so much more than family gatherings, watching fireworks or an opportunity to go on holiday.  Let me quote from Wikipedia to summarize the purpose of this day,  The Declaration of Independence justified the independence of the United States by listing colonial grievances Against King George III. The  United States Declaration of Independence is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies then at war with Great Britain were now independent states, and thus no longer a part of the British Empire.   The 4th of July is America’s birthday and the Declaration is a document which states our fundamental human rights.

July 4, 1776 was a 14/5 universal day – Interestingly enough the 14th key in the Tarot is associated with Temperance which ironically enough represents the establishment of belief systems and foundations of those beliefs.  Our founding fathers had to use proof beyond proof in drafting the Declaration; they had to document every verification of each justification;  and the desire for all truths in the text of the Declaration is worded very carefully and thoughtfully. Temperance, if you will, was applied  by our founding fathers where the application of moderation was applied as a fundamental principle.  Temperance is about the synchronistic blending of an alchemical process where two forces are used to create a third. In the case of the drafting of the Declaration of Independence, our founding fathers blended two fiery forces — those of the United States people(s) against the British Empire. The third force was the creation of the Declaration of Independence.  The image of the Temperance card depicts an Archangel with one foot in the water and the other foot on land. The symbolism represents the successful blending of opposing forces.

July 4th 2011 is a 15/6 universal day – Today the universal message is about using more discernment in what we do,  what we say and how we think.  The double-digit vibration of the 15 is a double-edged sword — on one hand it can be a day where love and tolerance rule, but the flip side is a preoccupation with self-indulgence. Today there is opportunity to change long-held beliefs – set yourself free with a change of view and erasing fears that are no longer valid.  Let go of all restrictions (including those that are self-imposed), learn to live with less obligation and learn to be more flexible and more compromising instead of uncompromising.

The energy of the 6 is the number that rules emotions, deep feelings and nurturing. 6 is the number that brings out our domestic diva – the love of home, family and children. This ties in so well with the July 4th vibration with all the family gatherings taking place today.

Take and apply these energies with you into the week ahead.
