Numerology is one of the oldest forms of divination. There is much that clouds the actual evidence of how numerology came about, and its origins much like the DeVinci Code, is still shrouded in mystery and secrecy today after thousands of years of research.
What we do know about numerology is that it is recognized as a science of numbers. It has gained in recent years as a popular source of divination and more and more people are seeking it out on it’s own merits alone — as an ancient spiritual science. Numerologists are consulted with more and more frequency and these days numerology is just as popular as an Astrology or Tarot reading.
Egypt and Babylon are recognized as the earliest places in recorded history where numerology began by the majority of numerologists. The credit for modern numerology as we know it today comes from Pythagoras who was an ancient Greek philosopher born is Greece around 590 BC. His theories about math are taught in schools and he is actually considered the “Father of Numbers” and his system of numbers is referred to as Pythagorean Numerology.
Pythagorean numerology was organized by Pythagoras himself, who was also a mathematician. It is the acknowledgment that every single thing in the universe is related to numbers and that everything can be forecasted and measured in rhythmic cycles. Pythagoras thought that the letters in the alphabet accorded with certain numbers. Further developing this idea Pythagoras established his own form of Numerology, known at present as Pythagorean numerology, which helped him to determine personal traits based on an individual’s name. The story goes that he went even further and changed his own name to feel the difference. The effect of changing your name can be considerable, depending on the numbers in your chart, and one should consult with a professional numerologist before considering a name change – such as one would either through marriage or divorce.
Numerology is not a complicated math system. It is, however, a simple form of arithmetic using only the numbers from 1 through 9. There are 26 letters in the alphabet and each letter (from A to Z) is assigned a number from 1 to 26. In numerology each number must reduce to a single digit number 1 through 9. If the number is 10 and higher, it is considered a double-digit number. Again, each double-digit number must reduce to a single digit number. Read more – What is Numerology?
Numerology is the Science of Numbers
The word Numerology comes from the Latin word “numerus,” which means number, and the Greek word “logos,” which means word, thought, and expression. Numerology influences every aspect of your life. Your personal numbers creates a genetic blueprint of your future through those numbers and helps to unveil your own deeper nature so that you understand who you are, what you should do and why.
The Only 2 Things You Need To Create A Numerology Chart
- Your date of birth
- Your Name as it appears on your birth certificate
You only need these 2 things to create your numerology chart — your date of birth and the name as it appears on your birth certificate. Unlike astrology, you do not need the birth time or place of birth. This combination of numbers can be translated into your personalized numerology chart. A personalized numerology chart can provide insight into finding your way on the path of life by identifying your strengths, your foibles and understanding your challenges. You can learn more about yourself and others, your relationships, compatibilities, finances, and career. Understand yourself at a deeper level by discovering how your personal Numerology affects your destiny. Numerology is like a mirror that reflects your life’s journey in the form of numbers. My motto is “Your Numbers Are Your Destiny.”
In Pythagorean numerology there are 9 main numbers that reflect the journey and the destiny of one’s life. Each of these 9 numbers contain basic components of personal traits and characteristics that are looked at in one’s numerology chart or genetic blueprint of one’s personal numbers. A numerology chart, or genetic blueprint, consists of many aspects — and they are all part and parcel of each individual’s personal numbers. However, the 5 most important aspects of a numerology chart, derived simply from one’s name and date of birth, are:
- The Life Path number – what you must learn in life.
- The Path of Destiny number – what you must do with your life.
- The Personality number – indicates how others see you.
- The Soul or Heart number – what you already are.
- The Birth Day number – showcases your special talents.
Part II will explore these 5 aspects with more clarification.
Until next time, I want you to be inspired by your life! Are you ready to have your numerology blueprint done and know what’s in store for you over the next 12 months.
